I’m still alive – and writing – !

July 29, 2013

Delighted that we managed against all odds to arrive at the Imp 50 gathering in Coventry in May. seems like a distant memory for me now! But a special albeit distant memory indeed.

So while I have not been tackling monster travel challenges of late I have nonetheless been a busy boy. i have made an honest start at capturing our adventure in a book and it seems that the Imp charge through Africa, Asia and Europe would work out a lot quicker than recording our travels in book form.

We have also been presenting interesting slide and video presentations of our great trek and at the same time raising some well needed funding for our chosen charity here in Johannesburg. If there is a group or company that would like to see our presentation just let us know and we will see how we could fit it in.

the JoLon Imp is still in England and I am delighted to see that it is included as an entrant to the Classic Car of the Year in the UK and soon we will find out if it will be selected as one of the 30 finalists for the big event in November Classic Motor Show. Wish me good luck here!

Silverstone exceptional engineering

Presently another Imp is making it’s way halfway across the World to celebrate the car’s 50th birthday. David Pilbeam of Australia is presently in Ireland and will next week take the car up to Scotland to meet many other Impers in Perth for the Imp 50 National! so between the tow Imps a total of nearly 30, 000 kilometers supports a strong case of superior reliability for the great little gem of a car. follow his blog on ; http://pilbeamimp.blogspot.com

JoLon Imp for sale

July 7, 2013

Sadly I need to sell my JoLon Imp.

This Imp that successfully took me safely from Johannesburg to Coventry and beyond is now on tour around the UK with the Imp Club for the summer. So ideally i would like for the car to be purchased by someone only after the Club is through with its shows for the year.

I had a figure of 4,000 pounds in mind but im not fixed on this amount. would like to know if there would be any interest in it.

I would obviously like club members to have first option on its purchase but failing any real takers, I might take my chances on Ebay or perhaps take it back to South Africa.
